The Provence – Ultimate Place for Painters and Photographers
Provence France an early morning sunrise in the french village of Gordes. One of the most picturesque landscapes of Europe. The Provence has hosted many famous artists among them Vincent Van Gogh and Paul Cézanne. Standing on the edge of the plateau of Vaucluse, Gordes is one of the “in” villages of Luberon where many movies stars and artists have made their home. Beautiful lavender and sunflower fields as well as the pictorial uphill villages are an endless inspiration to artists. You reach the wonderful old villages by taking the plane or the high speed train (TGV) from Paris to Avignon. If you rent a car then you have endless possibilities to visit the old villages. There you can buy souvenirs on the colorful markets or just sit in one of the many outdoor cafés and enjoy the scenery.
My Painting Approach
For my watercolor paintings I chose a semi-abstract approach. Therefore I change the local color to powerful tones and shades of atmospheric light. Thus the painting depicts a dreamy world of wonderful holidays. See my other Posts for paintings from Europe Greece – Santorini The Island For Honeymooners and Italy – Pai Sopra on Lake Garda a romantic place to visit. Art Prints on paper and canvas prints of Gordes are available in different sizes and qualities. Lovely!
Dear Eduardo, many thanks for your energizing feedback and in return I do love your pictures from Venice as well!
Sabina, your art is beautiful. I absolutely love the mood of the second painting! And the music is beautiful too.. Lovely post 🙂
Lovely music too – oh, J’ai toujours aimé la mer 🙂
Dear Tatiana, it makes me happy, that you love the music. I bought it on Amazon and it is a very old french song from Charles Trenet “la mer”. I could listen to it for hours!
Awesome watercolor Sabina!
